My name is Jess, and firstly I would like to acknowledge the extremely important role each family plays in their child’s learning and development. I have worked in the Early Education and Care industry for around 8 years in Newcastle and Tamworth. I completed my Bachelor of Teaching (Primary & Early Childhood) in 2013 and am currently completing my Graduate Diploma in Child Play Therapy which I have found extremely eye opening and interesting – this has further fuelled my passion for play and understanding of its importance in a child’s development and wellbeing.

I grew up in Tamworth and moved to Newcastle for university where I stayed for almost 10 years. I had always planned to move back home as I love the country and all it has to offer, I returned in 2019.
Being part of a child’s early years is such a special honour and I love seeing each child flourish during the time they are in my care. I have always felt drawn to the Early Childhood profession and over my years of teaching my passion for advocating for children’s right to play has grown. I feel so lucky to now be here at Kootingal & District Preschool, leading such a passionate and experienced team who ensure each child feels valued and important.
